Book 27 of 2015
I was intrigued by Becoming Rain after reading Burying Water a few weeks ago. I love K.A. Tucker‘s quick-paced, romantic storytelling, and I really enjoy this new world she has created in the Burying Water series. In book two of the series, the story gives us a glimpse of our two favorite characters from book one (just as Tucker does in the Ten Tiny Breaths series) but focused around Jesse’s friend, Luke Boone.
Luke works at his uncle’s garage and knows that some of the business his uncle is involved in is sketchy… like, mafia sketchy. What Luke doesn’t know is how deep the mafia connections run, and he definitely doesn’t have any idea that a FBI agent has been hired to go undercover to get to know him and seduce him. The FBI agent, Clara, goes by the name Rain and is intent on climbing the corporate ladder by succeeding with this case. What she doesn’t plan on is falling for her target.
An action-packed romance, filled with a mildly far-fetched plot (and for those critics who have complained about this on GoodReads… Becoming Rain wouldn’t have been nearly as good if it weren’t for Rain being a FBI agent and the complexity of this plot, so hush!), Becoming Rain is yet another K.A. Tucker novel that I’ll read over and over again. It’s the perfect mix of mystery, action, romance and emotion.
#OopsSheDidItAgain. Thanks, K.A!
