Book 15 of 2016
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
I cried at the end of this book. CRIED. Seriously guys, that’s embarrassing. Angels Twice Descending is the last of the Shadowhunter novellas (Book 10) and I bawled. I know I sometimes complained about the writing and editing of these novellas, along with the pacing and plotting, but I did see them through and read all of them. And let’s just say that I’m as surprised as you are that I fell in love with a certain character so much, that I actually cried as I read about his death.
I was warned; the summary of Angels Twice Descending simply states: Someone lives and someone dies at Simon’s Ascension ceremony. I’m not going to tell you who died, and I’m not going to spoil the ending for everyone regarding Simon and his memories, but I will say that while there is sadness at the end of this tale, there is also some happiness. I guess it wouldn’t be the Shadow World if there wasn’t death and sadness to read about, right?
I’m so happy to be done this series and I’m excited to move on to Lady Midnight. Although it was tedious at times, writing these novellas to bridge the gap between The Mortal Instruments and Lady Midnight was very smart on Clare’s part. And it’s true: obviously I connected with the characters, seeing as how I was a ball of emotions at the end of the series.

What did you guys think of this series? Was I the only one who cried? Please don’t say I’m the only one!
