Book 7 of 2015
Not many authors can write multiple genres successfully, and I’m pleased to announce that K.A. Tucker is one of the few who has succeeded. Tucker, known for her New Adult genre literature, explored the mystery/thriller genre in her new novel, He Will Be My Ruin.
The novel is set in New York City. The main character, Maggie Sparkes, is a wealthy do-gooder who flies to the Big Apple to manager her deceased best friends estate. Her best friend, Celine, appears to have committed suicide, but Maggie just can’t bring herself to believe her best friend would take her own life. After pleading with the police to re-open the case (spoiler alert: it doesn’t work), Maggie hires a private investigator to help her work through the limited number of clues that Celine left behind. Maggie hopes these clues will bring answers surrounding Celine’s death, but she ends up finding a handful of other truths about her closest friend that she wasn’t prepared to find.
I absolutely loved this mystery. It was addictive, thrilling and compelling; there were twists and turns in every chapter, and Tucker kept me guessing the entire time. And the icing on the cake? In true Tucker fashion, there are a few steamy scenes to keep the intensity high and the intimacy on a whole new level. Read this book!
